About

I am a curious person, and I find the world to be a curious place. My inspiration comes from learning new things, discovering new places, and meeting new people, and I make sense of it all by writing it down.

I have an M.A. in Writing from Johns Hopkins University, and my articles and essays have been published by The Butter (an essay series edited by Roxane Gay for The Toast), Baltimore City PaperBaltimore magazine, BmoreArt, Engineering.com, Full Grown People, National Parks Traveler, Outside In Literary & Travel Magazine, Queen Mob’s Tea HouseMissouri Meetings & Events, Sauce Magazine, and others.

I am the founder of Take Time Dragonfly, a newsletter and digital platform that provides inspiration and resources for moving on after divorce. I also serve as the VP of  Communications for a higher education institution.

I have served as a board of directors member of CityLit Project, an organization that nurtures the culture of literature in the Baltimore metro area, and on fundraising and engagement committees for Baltimore Center Stage, the State Theater of Maryland. I also spent four years as a nonfiction editor for The Baltimore Review, and I’m currently a contributing editor to 3cents Magazine. I’ve volunteered as a creative writing instructor for Writers in Baltimore Schools, served as a juror for the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, and guest lectured about writing and communications for classes at Johns Hopkins University, Loyola University Maryland, Goucher College, and Morgan State University.

When I’m not writing, I spend my free time practicing yoga, sailing, playing the piano, walking my rescue dogs, and reading to keep up with my book-buying habit.
