Leaving St. Louis after eight years, I realized there was so much I still hadn&#8217;t done. I never went to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.greatforestparkballoonrace.com\/\">Forest Park Balloon Race<\/a>.&nbsp; I only went to a concert at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thepageant.com\/\">The Pageant<\/a> once, and it was a great venue. Why didn&#8217;t I go back? We had season tickets to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.muny.org\/\">The Muny<\/a> one year (which was so much fun!), but I never went to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shakespearefestivalstlouis.org\/\">Shakespeare Festival<\/a> in the park even though I thought about it every summer. I never even made it to Soulard for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mardigrasinc.com\/\">St. Louis Mardi Gras<\/a>. I don&#8217;t want to make the same mistake here, so I take every opportunity I can to explore something new. Seriously, life is just too short.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_51\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-51\" style=\"width: 258px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lisalance.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Iggies.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-large wp-image-51 \" title=\"Iggies\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lisalance.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Iggies-1024x764.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"258\" height=\"193\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.lisalance.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Iggies-1024x764.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.lisalance.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Iggies-300x224.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 258px) 100vw, 258px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-51\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Delicious pizza at Iggies!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>In the first year, I&#8217;ve discovered some fantastic restaurants&#8211;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.woodberrykitchen.com\/\">Woodberry Kitchen<\/a> in Hampden, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.iggiespizza.com\/\">Iggies Pizza<\/a> in Mt. Vernon, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.pazorestaurant.com\/\">Pazo<\/a> in the Inner Harbor, to name a few. And each neighborhood has it&#8217;s own personality. I&#8217;ve checked out a few museums, visited some historic sites, and played tourist with visiting family and friends.<\/p>\n<p>I live in Towson, just north of the city line, and the suburb has charms all its own. It&#8217;s a curious mix of families, retirees, young professionals, and college students. You wouldn&#8217;t think it would work, but it does. I love that I can walk downtown to restaurants and bars&#8211;there&#8217;s even a block party with live music every Friday night from May to September.<\/p>\n<p>So in this blog space I&#8217;ll share what I&#8217;m discovering in Charm City, as well as other adventures in life.
